I hate doing laundry, but quite often and more often than I would care to admit. I find myself musing over the mundane tasks of daily life. Today was one of those days. Whilst dealing with the gargantuan pile of laundry I found myself starting to wonder, how did I end up in this situation?
The thing is, laundry is actually quite an interesting topic, for there are many different strategies available to the modern man for handling the often growing epidemic.
For example:
1. You could keep hoarding laundry until absolutely necessary before you inevitably force yourself to handle that sh*t.
2. Or your could set hard limits and do your laundry every week or half a week
3. Or you could say do laundry by the kilogram
I’m sure there are more strategies, which I encourage you to share below. But for the purposes of this post, I’m going to limit it to the strategies I use, so that I’ll be able to discuss them.
On this very day, I found myself facing a strategy 1 situation. I had filled my laundry basket up to the brim and in turn my washing machine was paying the ultimate price by having to work extra hard to toss those clothes in order to ensure an even spread of washing detergent between the million things I had stuffed into my washing machines mouth. But I digress.
What I gained from my musing which I wanted to share with you guys is that if you do laundry often, running with the “little but often principle”, it’s much more manageable than if you let that shit build up and hoard laundry. Seems like common sense, but nonetheless I felt compelled to write about it.
Not to mention every time I get the change to use the word “little but often” it brings a smile to my face as it reminds me of how non existent pay rises were once promised to me……”they’ll be little but often”. Plot twist, the pay rises never happened.
